ureadable files

When I start my computer it does a scandisk on my hard drive. All files
are listed as unreadable and the computer fails to boot up after the
scandisk, it shuts off and tries to start up again. The operating system is
XP Professional. I can not get the computer to start up in safe mode either.
Can anyone help me?

Go to the website of your hard drive manufacturer and get their hard
drive diagnostics.
If the hard drive is OK, perform a Repair Installation:
