There is a wizard that will do the conversion for you. Choose the option to
upsize the tables but to leave the database as an .mdb with linked tables.
Do not convert to an .adp. Although the .adp will still be supported in the
next version of Access, it is no longer being developed so it will not
completely support SQL 2005.
Before running the wizard, make sure that all your tables have proper
primary keys defined. Make sure that you do not have extraneous indexes
that might have been created by the auto indexing "feature" of Access. Make
sure that all the field sizes are correct and that all the data types are
correct. And finally, verify all the relationships and make sure that RI is
turned on along with Cascade Delete when necessary.
Do a search at the Knowledge Base at support.microsoft.com using the
keywords "upsizing" to review the various white papers on upsizing
Access to SQL Server as well as to ensure you have any updates
required.
