uPnP Enabled Router does not apear in Network Connections

I have a Dlink (DI-614+) UPnP enabled router - its set-up
with a cable modem and XP pc. The router is networked to
allow simple file& print sharing + internet acess between
two PCs (XP/98SE)

Before I set-up the network - I'm sure the Dlink router
icon used to appear in the "Network Connections" window
under Internet Gateway or similar. XP internet sharing is
not used.

The networking of the PC's and internet access work fine -
and I've checked that Upnp services are set to automatic
in the "Manage" settings of the XP machine - but the
router icon still does not appear.

Should it? - if so what can I do to get in back !

Any help

It's usually one of these

1. The SSDP Discovery Service has been disabled on the client.

2. A firewall is blocking traffic between the client and host.

3. The "Internet Gateway Discovery & Control Client" has been unchecked in
network optional components.

4. The SSDP Discovery Service or the UPNP Device Host service has been
disabled on the host.

Ken,

Tried most of these.

I updated the router firmware - and the "internet Gatway"
icon came back. Actually don't think it was anything to do
with the firmware (as the icon had previously appeared)

Maybe the router doing a full re-start helped matters

Thanks
