Help please! UPnP kills my router connection hourly

I have a Belkin F5D7231-4 High-Speed Wireless-G Router.

I have WinXP Pro and need UPnP enabled. In the router's setup HTML page I
have ticked the 'enable UPnP' box.

However with it enabled, my computer that is wired (not wireless) to the
router loses its internet connection momentarily approximately every 1-2
hours, then reconnects itself. This is obviously quite frustrating.

I have the latest firmware for the router and all updates for XP SP2, and
have uninstalled the Internet Gateway component of WinXP in case that was
the cause. It still occurs.

How can I avoid this happening without disabling UPnP (which does solve it)?

This sounds like a firmware problem. Try the DSLR Belkin forum for expert
advice.
