Upload with a router doesn't work

R

Ranjit

Hi,

I tried to search a lot about it but couldn't get a convincing answer.
I have two computers, a laptop(XP Professional) and desktop(XP
Professional) which I have connected to a DSL connection using a router
(Dlink DI-604).
The problem is that the upload via the router just won't work. It would
start off at a low value of 3-4kbps and within seconds drops to zero and
then the connection is lost for some time.
However, without the router, with one of the computers directly
connected to the DSL line, the upload works just fine.
I am sure the router is good since I used the same one for the cable
service I used before shifting to DSL.

Any help?
TIA

If your DSL connection uses PPPoE, you might need to change the MTU
value on your router or your computer. I recommend posting your
question in news group comp.dcom.xdsl, where someone has probably give
you a good answer.
