upgrading

I presently have Microsoft Office 1997. I would like to install MS Office
2007 but can I be assured that my data in Access will be readable and useable
in the higher level of Office?

You can definitely convert your data without any problems, but you may need
to do some rewriting of your application. I suggest using the Access 2000
format to upgrade first. Access 2007 can read the Access 2000 format nicely,
and you may be able to upgrade it without a major overhaul.

So for 10 years you sat on the fence as versions came and went, and
now you want to lay the blame at MSFT's feet?
Only partially kidding.
Access 2000 was a watershed event. You may have to convert to it first
before you convert to A2007. In 10 years most likely SOME of your
code no longer works as designed, but by and large it still will. If
you were using toolbars extensively you may have to rewrite that
portion for the Ribbon.

Okay...so 10 years is a long time...but $500 to upgrade was more than I could
afford...bit I don't think I should wait another 10 years. Thanks for your
help.
