Trying to upgrade my computer's OS from Windows ME to XP
Home Edition. It keeps stopping/stalling/freezing up when
the program gets half way through the "Preparing
Installations" phase of the upgrade. After waiting for an
extended period, I eventually press "Esc" to stop setup
and get the message that some internal error may have
occurred (which it doesn't tell me what specific error)or
that the installation was stopped (which I only did
because it keeps hanging up for a very long, long time).
Help....any and all suggestions sincerely welcomed!

First, make sure the XP CD is clean and not damaged. If the CD is Ok proceed
to the following.
Open the case and remove everything but the video card.
Reboot and let setup run. If successful, reinstall the hardware cards one at
a time.
Post back on success or if you need more help.
