Upgrading from XP Home Edition to Professional Edition

How can I upgrade from XP Home Edition to Professional Edition without
loosing user accounts, data or having to re-install applicatiions.

Purchase a retail and/or upgrade license and media.
Make sure all your drivers (hardware) and application patches (software) are
currrent.
Make sure you are clean of all viruses/trojans and spyware/adware.
Backup your really important stuff (documents, spreadsheets, pictures,
emails, contacts, favorites, etc) *just in case*.

While in Windows Xp Home Edition - put in your new retail and/or upgrade
Windows XP Professional CD. Choose to upgrade and follow the prompts.
