Upgrading Home Basic to Ultimate on more than 1 computer.

I have recently built a new computer and the original disk I have is for
Ultimate edition. Also, I am using the old hard drive that the original vista
ultimate is installed on, just as a slave however.

Does anyone know a way that I can upgrade to Vista Ultimate without buying a
new key for it?

Hi,

The license allows for installation and use on only one machine. If it's an
OEM (commonly used in preinstalled systems) license, then it is further
restricted to the machine on which is was originally activated one and is
not transferable. Assuming that you have a retail version and are no longer
using it on the original system, you can upgrade the Home Basic system with
it, but will need to phone in the activation.
