Upgraded 98 to XP Pro and Update shows OS as 98

Does anyone know the fix for the automatic update to
correctly recognize the OS I am running? I upgraded from
98 to XP pro a while ago, and I recently noticed that the
auto updater shows the OS as 98 vs XP..

Ed, when you select Windows Updates it takes you to the Win98 update site?
Take a look here.

to WinUpdates.

What happens after clicking the scan for updates is it kick
over to 'There are no updates for Windows 98' I am assuming
there is something in my reg. handing over the 98 value. I
checked out the website you recommended. Didnt see anything
right of the top...
