Upgrade Vista Home Premium to Ultimate ? fix corrupted files

Steve

After weeks of trying to get Vista to work properly (following a memory card
crash) - done all the usual repairs and chkdsk's and taken Norton off etc...I
have been advised to either re-install but then need to load all applications
again or upgrade to Ultimate. Question is by upgrading to Ultimate will it
fix corrupted files. ( I cannot load any new programmes etc keep getting
error message : The resource loader cache doesn't have loaded MUI entry)

Thanks

Steve

Hi Brink

Thanks for the help unfortunately I only have the DVD that came with
computer when I purchased it new it is an "OEM system builder pack" so it
automatically disables the upgrade option.

The solution tutorial does note that " You must have a Vista Express or
Retail installation DVD to do this. If you have a OEM Recovery installation
DVD that came with your computer instead, then it will most likely only be a
clone of the hard drive with Vista allowing you to only do a clean install
with it instead."

Worth a try though! I have ordered the Ultimate upgrade guess I could have
ordered the Home Premium retail pack as an alternative - will let you know
how it goes.

Thanks for the help

Steve
