Upgrading to XP from 98 w/ upgrade disk. Transferred files fine but when it
rebooted to continue install received this error message: unexpected error
(0)
occurred at line 1773 in d:\xpsprtm\base\boot\setup\arcdisp.c.

Any idea what this is or means? Data base search was not productive.

Transferres what files fine..The OS files or user files....Either way,a xp
upgrade
really isnt a good way for that installation, and where you are now this way
is
best as microsoft prefers.Simply install xp cd,boot to xp cd (you may need
to
adjust for this in the BIOS,1st boot device, etc.),once at xp cd boot menu
select,
install xp,new copy,delete the partition (98 & or xp),create one,then let xp
format and do a clean installation, you'll need the 98 cd for verification
only.
Xp doesnt need any 98 files, plus 98 runs in FAT32 file system xp runs in ntfs

This behavior can occur because of damaged random access memory
(RAM) modules or a damaged RAM slot.
