Upgrade to XP Pro from 98SE - original programs not on add/remove

I just upgraded to XP Pro from Windows 98SE. My original programs are still
in my C: drive, but none are on the all programs list and none are in the
add/remove programs list either. I tried to re-install Norton SystemWorks
2004 but it cancels. Read through most of the newsgroups and nothing is
similar to my problem.
