Upgrade installation problem

All right, I'm really frustrated, hope someone out there can help me...I've been using Win ME for awhile, but I got the upgrade bug and bought the XP Home edition, the install went fine until the end; when I rebooted after the install was complete, I got the following error message, "The logon user interface DLL EPGINA failed to load." I cannot access my BIOS, the startup menu, or any safe mode for troubleshooting. I can't just wipe the HD and start over as I bought the upgrade disc, and the original Win ME discs left when my son moved overseas, so I'd have to get the full install version if I format the HD....HELP!

Have your son send the ME CDs back, they should stay wity
the computer. Or go spend the money for the full install
and sell the upgrade to your son.

Then, since the discs "left", your copy became a pirated,
illegal copy. Either get the disks back, or buy a legal
copy. You and your son are guuilty of pirating software.

Jim's advice is correct, and according the rules of installing Windows
according to the EULA. Instead of getting a full install disk, use another
PC to access the net, and search for full versions of Win98. Reputable
resellers have them as cheap as $19 in some cases, and they can be used for
a qualifying previous Windows version for your XP Home Upgrade. This will
save you a good chunk of change, and you will have a way to reinstall again
in the future if needed.

What a prìck you are. His copy of ME and XP were not pirated, nor did they
become pirated. He did now make a copy of the disk, and give it away, or
download a copy illegally, THAT IS PIRATING, YOU DICK!

Also, he did not violate his EULA either, since the ME disk was his, he
simply gave it to his son. He and his son would be breaking the agreement if
he installs it and uses the ME version overseas, since it is now tied to the
XP upgrade. But since you read only to find fault and attack, you missed the
point where his system won't work AT ALL. SO!!! The ME disk doesn't fall
into this anymore since it cannot be used in this situation, and he has to
reinstall the OS and needs an other qualifier. Now the ME disk is kosher by
the EULA since it is not tied anymore to the new XP upgrade since it cannot
be used, but by his son..

TNTitanFan will have to purchase a qualifying previous version of Windows
to use his upgrade disk, which then will also make the use of the ME disk by
his son totally in the rule of the EULAs.

If all you can do is attack instead of offering help, then why not just off
yourself as to stop giving everyone else your misery!
