I just finished building a new AMD Sempron/Biostar motherboard, 2 gig
ram, got to BIOS, tweaked them and put an upgrade XP Home OS disc in
and now I am blocked access to anything past the POST so I cannot even
get the BIOS anymore. Anyone know how to get past that? I also have
a XP Pro OS disc, put that in and again nothing past POST. HELP? How
do get past post F!, F-8, F-9 and DEL do not get me anywhere. Nothing
past POST, Please someone help me. Thank you very much, BBB

Look for a BIOS reset jumper on the motherboard (check owners manual on how
to reset the bios).
You can also remove the CMOS battery for about 30 minutes which should also
reset the BIOS.

The CD can't do anything until AFTER the POST has completed (because
the CD drive isn't even accessed until then and only if included in
the boot drive sequence in BIOS). So UNTWEAK what you did in BIOS,
even resetting if needed, and don't tweak the BIOS again because
obviously you changed a critical setting to a value you don't
understand or is not in-spec for the components that you think you
have. You are not getting past the POST because you screwed up the
BIOS or you have failed hardware.

First you can jsut remvoe and then re-install the CMOS battery but if you
look on the MB, it should be identified "Marked" which jumper is the reset
for the CMOS. ther will be three pins and a jumper connecting two of them.
You'll have to move it so it so it is connecting "Pairing" with the other two
for a few seconds and then change the jumper back to where it was
connected/Paired to.

I have learnt this by trial & "Error" which I have made a lot of "Errors" so
take my information for what it is worth.
