2 computers 1 OS

M

Motort

Some time ago my computer would not boot past the BIOS post. I took
it to the local Computer Guru shop where they told me the motherboard
was fried. I bought a new MB and hard drive, reinstalled XP and
activated it. All is well.
Lately I started tinkering with a new case and the old components...
surprise, surprise, I got the box to boot up just fine.
Question: can I keep using the 2nd computer with the original XP os,
if I never connect it to the Internet, or will it somehow self
destruct? TIA

Try the local computer guru person first, try the local computer guru
shop last.

Yes, you can keep on using it, and it won't matter if you do connect it to
the internet either. There might be a problem if you need to use Windows
Genuine Advantage (for validation of a Windows installation needed for some
Microsoft downloads) but even then I think it's a safe bet that it still
won't matter. If your system doesn't ask for validation within the first
ten minutes of operation, then it's not going to... (I don't know what your
MVP's are going to have to say about this!!?)
