Recently I upgraded my operating system from windows me to xp. All seems to
be working, but there is no sound. The sound card is a creative sb live.
All items in the troubleshoot have been tried but there is no indication of a
problem. I even down loaded new drivers from creative still no success. Any
Ideas.

Which CL SB drivers did you download ?
I use LiveDrvUni-Pack(ENG).exe
Does everything look good in device manager ?
Try deleting all sound card drivers from device manger and reboot.
Also try pulling sound card, reboot once, shut down reinstall card, boot up
Does you motherboard have built in sound,
if so, is it enabled or disabled ?

Very possible that the sound was muted by default. Check all setting in
Sound Blaster Utilities and XP settings. This is pretty common. JJ
