Upgrade from Win98SE

I am unable to upgrade from Win98SE to XP Home. I get to
the 67 minute mark (after copying files) and then I get a
blue screen error - either fatal error OE 0028 or OD
0028. I have tried numerous times, even in safe mode and
also from the hard drive, and still the same error. Also,
I have been on the phone for a total of 4hrs with Windows
XP support. I have a fairly new motherboard - ASUS A7V8X-
X - with an AMD 2600+ chip. The memory is new - 1 Gig.
The only other cards I have are a Soundblaster Live
Platinum and an Xtasy 9600 video card (also new). Any
suggestions?

The error your getting is actually being reported by
win98.
Perhaps try this.
Unplug everything besides the mouse keyboard and monitor.
Click start/run and type in msconfig. Hit enter.
Choose selective startup and then uncheck all the boxes
under it.
Click ok and reboot.

Now try installing.
