UPDATING

Okay, I KNOW this is a dumb question, but I honestly am not sure of the
answer. Both MSAS and AVG update during the night. I am on DSL and
disconnect when I sign off. My first question is: Does my computer
automatically disconnect when I sign off (saving me the step)? Secondly, do
these programs reconnect themselves to do updates? How does that work?

In most situations, perhaps all, the computer disconnects from networks
requiring a login, when you log out of windows.

Microsoft Antispyware does not run, nor connect to the Internet, when you
are not logged in.

I'd recommend changing the update and scan times to a time when you will be
logged in.
