Updating Driver causes Blue Screen in XP

I recently downloaded and installed an updated video
driver (recommended by windows update) for my Nvidia Ge-
force 4 4200 TI AGP slot video card. After I restarted,
everytime windows starts, I get the a blue screen that
flashes too quickly to read then windows restarts... I had
the option to go back to last known good configuration
which worked... is there any way I can fix this problem so
I can update my drivers?

I get the same effect by downloading drivers from Nvidias
database... so I'm guessing it's a problem with Windows XP?

Microsoft isnt responsiable for the updates that come
from other companys for updates. could possiably be that
you had a corrupted or wrong update for that version.
Could also be your bios settings.
75% of Computer PCs require you set the mb in size of the
card supported.
Is that set properly?

Head over to nVidia's web site and get their latest drivers for the video
card. Forget all driver updates from Micosoft since they do not make them
and they most of the time do not work.

FWIW, I use an Nvidia Ge Force FX 5200 and after installing updated drivers
I got repeated "Windows has recovered from a serious error" messages.
I reinstalled the OEM drivers and the problem stopped.
I concluded that there was a problem with the updated drivers and didn't try
again.
