Operating Toshiba Satellite 5105/Windows XP with NVIDIA GeForce4 440 Go
display hardware. Display was locking up at odd times forcing a reboot.
Went to mfg web site and downloaded new driver entitled "nVIDIA GeForce
Go/GeForce4 Go/GeForce FX Go/Quadro FX Go Driver ForceWare 78.11 Windows
2000/XP download site1." Upon installation I get the following error: "The
NVIDIA Setup program could not locate any drivers that are compatible with
your current hardware. Setup will now exit." And exit it does.
Tried to go back to an older version. Current version is NVIDIA 5.6.7.3
dated 4/7/2004. It does not offer the native resolution of the screen, which
is 1600x1200. It only offers 1370x1050. On the right side of the screen is
a strip of blacked out pixels. Full screen windows are incomplete. This is
annoying.
Anyone know how I can fix this? Either get the updater to recognize the
hardware or revert to an older version that will restore the native
resolution? Thanks.
