I have recieved 5 E-mail messages from M.S. about
security updates. The subject E-mails do not show update
numbers so I cannot compair to my update list. When I
check my window update software, after it scanes my
system, it dose not show any security updates required.
What gives? I have never recieved any security update
information from M.S. before. Should I disregard the M.S.
E-mails and rely on my system windows updater?

The few days there has been a lot of bogus Microsoft E-mails regarding
a cumulative patch.

This E-Mail is not from Microsoft and the attachment that is being sent in
the E-mail is a mass-mailing worm and has been boggling plenty of mail
servers as of late. Do not open or run the attached file, and delete the
e-mails.

Any and all legitimate patches and updates are readily available
at http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/. (Notice that this is the true
URL, rather than the bogus one that may have been contained in the
email you received.) Any messages that point to any other source(s) or
claim to have the patch attached are bogus.
