Updates

I installed a recent (Oct) update for WXP onto my
notebook. Almost immediately my system began re-starting
frequently. To see if the update was the cause, I
installed the update onto my desktop. The results were
the same, only not as frequent. I did System Restore on
both and the problem went away. Now, I'm reluctant to
install updates, period.
Any ideas?

On rare occasions, individual updates will have an adverse effect on
specific configurations. Without knowing the specific update you applied it
is impossible to offer further assistance.

Know also that you must disable your antivirus software before installing
updates. Not doing this can cause system instability.
