I have just purchased a new Dell computer with Windows XP
Home. when online for updates I'm not sure which ones I
should be adding to update....there seem to be about 14
to be added and don't want to add all if not
necessary...can anyone help?? Also have McAfee Virus
Scan installed is this sufficient enough for the present
viruses out there??

You should install any updates that are listed as "Critical". The rest
depend on whether you think you need or want them or not.

didi,

Each listed update describes what it does and/or what part of the OS it
changes. read the text and make judgment calls accordingly (except the
"critical" ones, which as MS replied, should be installed).
