I am having difficulty downloading and installing the
various Microsoft patches that improve security.

Following the directions on the Microsoft site, the
download is fast (cable modem), but the install process
is very slow and when it reaches 100% nothing more
happens.

Any ideas?

I had this with my new computer which would take forever
while my old 350 dell would do it in a few minutes I went
to
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-
us;812956

I then followed method four and downloaded and installed
iuctl and it fixed the problem

repost back here if you follow this and it is a fix.
