Update loop strikes back ...

I am on a dial-up connection, and I have to perform manual updates.
However, Windows Updates keep on going into an update loop.
As such, I can only update the spyware signatures by manually
removing the previous signatures using the Windows Install
Clean Up, and performing another yet another manual update.

Is there going to be a fix for this?

Do you have automatic updates turned on--for Windows?

I think the right strategy for a dialup user is just to ignore the update
process--let the bits service do its thing--dial in when you want, hang up
when you want. Bits should use unused bandwidth when it can, resume, etc,
until it gets the file in.
