update help!!!!

I went to shut down my computer and it is installing the windows
updates, but it has been cycling back and forth from "installing update
1 of 14" and "don't turn off your computer..." for several minutes.
(I'm oviously on a different machine).

Please help!! What do I do if it doesn't do anything??

Just wait.

It might do something.

If it doesn't do anythig for quite a while, still wait because it might
still be trying to do something but can't figure out how to do it.

If you wait quite a while, and it still doesn't do anything... do
something yourself.

I also had some quirky experiences auto-installing (i.e. I have Automatic
Updates turned on.) This is strange as I cannot remember the last time I had
a problem with this setting.

What I did was launch Windows Update (wupdmgr.exe) and install these 14 (?)
updates using Microsoft's website.
