Auto Update Running for 2+ Hours??

P

Pam

When I went to shut my other machine down this afternoon, I got the usual
updates ready to install message- don't turn off machine, etc. Well, it's
been running for 2 hours now ands still shows installing update 1 of 3.
I've never had an update take longer than 10 minutes before. Can this be
right?

Thanks,
Greg

Mine said 11MB and actually added up to about 17MB. If you're on dialup 2 hrs
is about right.

They have a damn cumulative IE7 update. You download all the old stuff each time,
in a snowball effect, before you get the new.

He was referring to when XP installs the updates during shut-down, not when
downloading them from the web.
