up-grade

I'm did a up-grade from windows 98 to windows xp, after
the up-grade I could no longer go on line.I'm using AOL
8.0..when I converted back to windows 98 I got on line.
any clues why 8.0 won't work on xp??? The error message
is " un-able to find modem..device manager say's the
modem is working fine.
 
Check the website for your modem. There may be updated Windows XP device
drivers you can download.
