| problem. I have finally tracked it down.

| I am using a anti-malware program called pestpatrol (which i think
is
| rubbish compared to adaware). When it recognises a cookie, it
deletes it,
| and plays this annoying sound. Now i have disabled the sound, and
all is
| right with the world...for the moment.

| It was Ricky's suggestion that got me thinking along the right line.
