unwanted internet sites

While I am using e-mail, I am frequently interrupted by
unsolicited sites that are really disgusting = is it
possible to prevent stuff like this without spending any
further money. I am seriously considering leaving the
electronic world if it is not possible. please help.

if you are using hotmail, yahoo, or any other email system that can only be access through the internet and are getting popup ads, then just download a free popup blocker. one of these is the google toolbar. www.google.com not only is it free, but it creates a google search option right on your internet explorer AND acts as a popup blocker. i'm not affiliated with google, nor do i use it, but it would be a good beginner popup ad stopper.

if this is not the case and you are using outlook or lotus notes to access email, what kind of popup ads are you getting? are they just spam email or actual "internet windows" that popup? i would need more information to help you with that.
