Hello, Carlos
I'm guessing that you're on the right track: The install of the
printer caused some small, 'under the radar' process to be programmed
to start whenever you start the 'puter now, which is why you're getting
the hp window.
This is what I'd do: Start the machine up fresh, & bring up Task
Manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc) > Processes tab. Click on the Name heading
to sort the processes alphabetically, and look for anything that starts
with "hp". Take note of what you find, fire up a web browser, and go
to any one of the number of excellent sites that deal with identifying
XP processes. For example:
http://www.answersthatwork.com/Tasklist_pages/tasklist.htm
http://www.pacs-portal.co.uk/startup_index.htm

http://www.liutilities.com/products/wintaskspro/processlibrary/system/
(that's only 3 of those sites---there are others....)

You're most likely going to find some little HP process that's
starting up automatically, that you didn't ask for, and you need to
find the location to turn its setting from Automatic to Manual. You
might be able to do this by finding the 'guilty party' in Local
Services (Start > Run > Services.msc), and changing its setting, or you
may need to install a 3rd -party app like Autoruns
(http://www.microsoft.com/technet/sysinternals/ProcessesAndThreads/Autoruns.mspx)
to do this.

This often happens when a startup entry is incorrect. Look at the
information here from MVP Ramesh:

http://windowsxp.mvps.org/dellfolder.htm

Even though this isn't a Dell folder, the concept is the same.

Thank you for the suggestion.

Task Manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc) > Processes tab. I found
HPZipm12.exe (no other HP programs).
msconfig.exe > Extended > Printer driver HPZipm12 > Propertied I
changed it from Automatic to Manual (printer and scanner work). HP
Explorer windows still shows on reboot. I tried changing ot Deactivate
and the scanner did not work and the HP Explorer windows still shows
on reboot. .

I will try the other two suggestions.

I used msconfig I disable the StartUp of hpcdtray and dvdbitset. I has
these two startup for years on my computer, They are related to the HP
DVD burener I have in my computer. This stooped the HP folder from
opening up when I start my computer.
