Why is Windows Explorer starting when I boot up??

Suddenly about two days ago, a strange thing started to happen each time I
boot up my computer.

Running Win XP Home Edition SP 3. I installed SP 3 2-3 weeks ago and this
did NOT start concurrent with installing SP 3, so, I doubt that it's related
to SP 3. Computer is a HP a1520y.

When I power up, the computer goes through its usual boot routine then, when
the XP desktop displays, Windows Explorer pops up showing a folder named HP
with a subfolder titled "Non ICO Components." When I open that folder I see
a file titled "uninstall.isu."

The computer is operating normally; this thing is simply and annoyance that
does not seem to affect performance.

I ran msconfig but I can't find a line there that starts Windows Explorer on
startup. When I right-click on the "Non ICO Components" folder and select
Properties, it shows an installation date of 2/9/2009 at 8:35 pm -- but I
did nothing to the computer at that time. Is it possible my HP automatic
update added something to the system?

Thanks.

I can't guess why this is happening now, but here's how to stop it:

http://windowsxp.mvps.org/dellfolder.htm

MVP Ramesh's information at that link is for a Dell folder opening at
Startup but the concept is the same as your issue.
