Searching for items when starting "My Computer"

S

Steve S

Windows XP w/ SP1 on a Dell Dimension 8200,

I recently installed an EPSON Stylus RX600 Printer.

After installing the drivers I am encountering two
problems

1. When starting "My Computer" / "Windows Explorer" the
window comes up immediately but it takes several seconds
up to 1 min to show all of my disk drives. A fhashlight
shows up and the window says "Searching for Items"...

2. In my browser (I.E. 6.0) I must prefix all my web
addresses w/ "HTTP://" If I type in just "WWW...." it
will not resolve the web address.

Both items go away if I restore to before installation of
these drivers.

Please Help!

Steve, go here and download the latest driver
http://tinyurl.com/3wlog

If it's a USB connection install the software first then connect the
printer. Remove any Printer
Software from Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel. Then restart and
reinstall the driver.
