Unwanted Desktop Shortcuts

I share a computer with another person. They download and install
games which I don't use. We have different log ins. Every other day I
log in and find 3 or 4 new shortcuts on my desktop. Is there a way to
restrict my desktop so that anything not installed by me doesn't leave
a shortcut on my desktop ?

Both accounts have Admin privs.

Most likely they are coming from;
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Desktop

Move them to the profile desktop of the user installing the games.

???

Right now I just delete them.

I don't want them to appear in the first place. Is there a way to
block the desktop
from what others install ?

Don't share the computer then.

I got this on another site...

Here's the registry setting you want:

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies
\Explorer]
"NoCommonGroups"=dword:00000001

The above setting can also be applied by running gpedit.msc and then
go to User Configuration, Administrative Templates, Start Menu and
Taskbar, and Enable "Remove common programs from Start Menu"

You'll have to logout and login or kill and restart Explorer to see
the change.

If you are missing any icons after applying this setting, copy the
icons from the All Users profile to your profile.
Wait a minute. Start Menu I don't care
about, I rarely use it.

I just don't want my desktop filled with
other people's junk.

The setting also applies to the desktop. Give it a try. When I tested
it, all desktop items from the All Users profile disappeared from my
desktop.
