Unstoppable Server Request

S

I've installed Outlook 2007 on my laptop and desktop and paid for an
Exchange Hosting account on SherWeb.

I followed the installation instructions, and everything works like a
dream on the laptop. The desktop, to the best of my knowledge, has the
exact setup as the desktop, but hangs constantly.

I open up Outlook, and it asks for my password. It then begins to
update the offline files - I'm using Cached Exchange mode. After
anywhere from 30 seconds to eight hours - usually a minute or two -
I'll get the dreaded hourglass on the Outlook icon. The tooltip reads
"Microsoft Office Outlook is requesting data from the server."

And there it sits. I can right-click, and try "Cancel Server Request",
but nothing happens. The request appears to keep chugging right along.

I've tried changing every setting I can think of, I've tried changing
wireless adapters. I've had the laptop sitting next to the desktop to
see if it was a connection issue, and the laptop worked perfectly.

Both computers were upgraded from Outlook 2003 to Outlook 2007. The
desktop had an early 2007 Beta, but I went back to 2003.

I have made numerous new profiles.

If it helps, the program appears to run fine if I deactivate Cached
mode.
