On the Windows XP-Pro welcome screen, under each user
there is a display of the number of unread messages in
that user's email client. I learned that this
information comes from a registry entry that gets updated
by Outlook Express (see Knowledge base article #304148),
but I am having trouble getting this to work for all
users. I have the registry folder permissions set
exactly the same, but what I have noticed is that when a
user has two or more mail accounts established in Outlook
Express (even within the same Identity), then this
function stops working. It appears as the Outlook
Express stops updating the registry value when more than
one mail account exists for a user. Does anyone know why
this is, or if there is a way to fix it?
Thanks,
