Unlock Network Connections

I was signed up with 4safe.com for internet access. They had me run a
program called filtersetup that locked the internet connections in
Control Panel and the proxy settings in IE and Firefox. I have
canceled my service due to their horrible customer service and the
program would not work on my Windows 98 machine. They will not tell
me how to remove the locks on my Windows XP machine after numerous
phone and e-mail
conversations.

Any help?

I have No clue what this program is doing.
However if I was in the same predicament, I would use the two free
applications (StartUp ,and Proccess Explorer) mentioned in the following
link to make sure that there is No residual parts of the 4safe loading in
startup, and that there is No process related to the program running through
the StartUp or the Windows Services.
