My boss's computer has locked his CMOS, and he forgot his password. Now I
couldn't even go to the BIOS setup. anyone has ideas to unlock the CMOS??

please help!!

I think you can remove the battery and replace it, the bios will need to be
reconfigured.

If you CANNOT open the case to set the BIOS clear
jumper or it is a notebook, You can use the following.

HOWEVER - it will reset all BIOS settings to their
default values. Use this process as a "Last Resort" !

From within Windows, Open a Dos Window (Command)
Debug
-o 70 2E (The character is the Letter O, not numeral Zero)
-o 71 FF (**Same as above)
-q
Close the Dos Window and Reboot - BIOS will probably
stop and report that "Defaults" are being used and prompt
you to enter BIOS and set the correct values.

This is a "Universal" reset for all BIOS

Read the motherboard's manual for a diagram of the
motherboard, find where the battery is.
Remove the computer's case and pop the battery out, then
replace it.

If you're not comfortable with playing around inside a
computer case, I would recommend having a repair shop do
it.

There may be a jumper on the motherboard to reset it. If not
remove the battery for a while (normally 15 minutes or so, but
sometimes it takes as much as several hours).

Either of the above resets everything, not just the password, and
it will have to entirely reconfigured.

Greetings --

Most motherboards have a jumper switch to reset the password (as
well as the rest of the BIOS). Consult your PC/motherboard's manual.

OK, if the OP can't boot the computer as the BIOS is requiring a
startup password, how exactly can they perform this procedure that
requires them to boot up the computer?

Ahh...but the OP didn't say he can't boot the PC w/out a password, he can't
get into BIOS setup w/out a password. There are some passwords that will
ALWAYS work, but it depends on the BIOS company.
