Subject: SHIFT LOCKED

I have Windows XP Pro and recently It started going
wacky. When I start my comp up it works fine for awhile
then when I click on an icon or anything to select it
highlights a bunch of things at once. Also when I try to
type a number it's like the shift is locked only it
isn't. When I try to restart it won't so I have to use
shut down then after I turn it back on it works fine for
awhile then it starts being wacky again.
I couldn't figure out the problem so I had a friend
reformat my hardrive and do a clean install of XP PRO.
That didn't help either. It still goes wacky after
awhile. I BOUGHT A NEW KEYBOARD AND MOUSE> (IT"S DOING IT
NOW)ALL CAPS WITHOUT MY CONTROL
ANY IDEAS THANKS I HAD THE BOARDS CHECKED AT BEST BUY AND
THEY SAID ITS FINE
..

Are you running a firewall? You may be hacked by a joker
just having fun with you. There are programs that are not
viruses (they don't replicate or destroy data) just drive
you nuts.

Try SpyBot www.security.kolla.de it might detect some of
these.

Do a Google for "keyboard pranks" or similar terms to see
what you find.

message | Thanks, I have Norton AV and keep it updated. I tried
| your www.trojanscan.com/ suggestion and found no trojans.

Another thought...

Control Panel, Accessibility Options, Accessibility Options, check to
see if Sticky Keys is enabled.
