unistalling xp home edition and reinstalling it

my computer is very slow and i want to start over
completely...i want to reinstall xp but when i tried it
says something about a partition and i cannot delete
it....how do i unistall windows xp and then reinstall it?

it is not an upgrade version, it came with my
computer...if that helps
