Hi All,

I attempted to install a font on a W2KPro machine. Viewing the fonts now
shows two copies of the same with a size of 0KB. Attempting to delete
either orccurrance of the file in the Fonts Explorer window gives an error.
Additionally, it will not allow me to reinstall the font. Attempting to
delete from the command line appears to work and the file no longer appears
when doing a dir from the CLI, but it reappears when I check the Fonts
Explorer. How can I wipe it out and start over???

TIA,

John

PS -

When attempting to delete from Font Explorer the specific error is:

Cannot delete file: Cannot read from source file or disk

That ususally means the file is no longer there. This can happen in Windows 2000 when the files system does not have time to udate its pointers to the non-existent file. This is a long running issue with Windows 2000 two hotfixes for it that I have seen.

Try running chkdsk /f on your system drive and then re-boot and accept the prompt at boot.. See if that helps the issue.

What font as you trying to install? Either the ttf name or the friendly name will be fine.
