I need some help. I have a pc which has been partitioned to operate both
linux and windows. Linux has not been used for years and no record of any
user name or password. Recently did new install over previous copy of windows
2000 and it seems that windows also partitioned this. I now wish to clear the
lot and start again with windows 2000. What do I do?

Simply boot from the Win2K installation CD. You'll be offered the
opportunity to delete, create, and format partitions as part of the
installation process. (You may need to re-arrange the order of boot
devices in the PC's BIOS to boot from the CD.)

Whilst you have net access get all the drivers for all the hardware you have
(Video.Sound,Lan Card, etc etc)

Set your PC to boot from the CD-Rom, pop in yout 2K disk and follow the
prompts

When asked to choose the partition delete them all then reboot and start
again then when you reach the
stage you just left either partition your HD or just install 2K using the
full size of the Drive.

Dont forget to service pack it and add the updates needed
