Uninstaller utility for Windows

Hello all,
I am having trouble with Windows Messenger and want to uninstall it but it
isn't showing up in my Add/Remove Programs list. I have tried reinstalling,
rebooting, etc. but no joy. I remember that I was having a similar problem
with a different app some time ago and I was pointed to a utility that would
list installed apps and allow you to remove them using that list. This is MS
written, or at least MS endorsed, because I got it from support when I was
having trouble with my Office installation. If anyone knows the utility that
I speak of can you please point me to it? I promise not to use it and
discard it this time.LOL

Thanx,
Mike

The utility you are talking about is a utility that fixes Microsoft's MSI
installer system

You will need a registry patch to "disable: Windows Messenger, since it is
too integrated into WIndows.

The utility found in that link is for Office cleanup and is not the one that
I was thinking of. The utility that I used before would install and create
Start Menu icons so that you could run it when needed. When you started the
utility it would open a list of installed apps and you could select an app
from that list to uninstall it from the PC. Anyone else??

Thank you Kelly. I have found the utility. From Yusha's message I figured
that if there is a utility msicuu2.exe then there must be an original version
and a search for msicuu.exe took me to the XP Support Tools page where I
found what I was looking for:

<LOL> Doesn't quite work that way on the balcony of Bourbon Street, unless
Mike is a female name. However, the night before Fat Tuesday is the female
parade, so that may have worked. As for hurricane's......Pat O's has you
covered.) http://www.patobriens.com/
