Hi,
I'm just trying to create a complete backup using ntbackup.exe. The utility
allows me to make choices about what to backup, where to and when but once
the backup is started, the dialog just sits around doing nothing (Status =
preparing to back up using shadow copy). The only way to exit is via the
task manager or system re-start. The event viewer shows only that the
program was started but no errors. Similarly, no "Not Responding" message on
the dialog box.
I've tried re-installing the program from my Windows CD, I've tried choosing
a different destination device and backing up small pieces of what I need. I
even left it running all night in case I was just being impatient but no joy.
I have used the utility on previous occasions and it worked fine. I can't
think of any significant changes to my system since I last used the utility
although it might have been pre SP3.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated as I've been messing around with
this for about 26 hours.
Thanks in anticipation.
