If it is a retail purchased operating system (Windows XP)
you either roll back to the previously installed operating
system (you used an upgrade CD) and then use the retail CD
to install XP on the new computer.
If XP came installed on the computer as OEM, you can't.
| how do i uninstall xp from 1 computer then put it on
| another and letting microsoft let me
Activate it (by phone if necessary if the original installation is not that
old).
This will be allowed for any retail version of WindowsXP, all you need to do
if you phone in activation uis tell them it was removed from computer A.
Many OEM and preinstalled versions do not allow for a transfer to new
hardware, if this is the case, you will need a new WindowsXP license for the
installation to computer B.

The same symptom is caused due to Klez, Yaha Viruses. It is advisable to run
a full system scan. Be sure you update the anti-virus software definitions.
