Greetings --

First of all, please unstick your CapsLock key. Posting in all
caps, as you have done, is the Usenet equivalent of shouting, and is
considered very rude. More importantly, posting in all caps makes the
post very hard to read, further reducing your chances of getting help.

The normal way to "uninstall" _any_ operating system is to format
the hard drive and install a new OS of your choice.

However, if you performed an upgrade from Win98/Me, elected to
backup the old system files, and didn't convert the partition to NTFS,
then all you need do is boot into Safe Mode and Start > Control Panel
Add/Remove Programs. All of these conditions _must_ be met for the
uninstall option to be available.

Emma;
And your computer will stay that way since you apparently just want to
complain and not do anything constructive about it.
What did the computer manufacturer have to say when you contacted them
about your issues?

If you want help, you should start a new thread giving details of your
problem.
It also helps to post to the correct group:

A PII is too slow for XP anyway so 98 would be better for your old
machine. You need at least a PIII 500MHz for XP to work satifactorily.

You MUST delete all the partitions on the HD first before installing
an older version of Windows. Use FDISK, DELPART or Partition Magic to
remove them.

Then you can create a new FAT32 partition and install 98 on it with
the programs.
