Hello,

I am using XPSP3. I am trying to uninstall some software via the add/remove programs in control panel but get an error that says
"setup encountered an error and needs to close". I get the same error if I use the software's uninstall program. Any ideas how to
get this uninstalled?

Hi BBran. I had the same issue a few months ago. One of the Newsgroup MVP's
suggested I download a free copy of `Revo Uninstaller'. I did and it works
great. Works on XP or Vista. Here's a link to follow:

http://download.cnet.com/Revo-Uninstaller/3000-2096_4-10687648.html

Just paste it into your browser's address bar to download. Once installed
open it and it will create a list of everything on your machine that can be
uninstalled. Click on the one you want and select `uninstall' and sit back
and watch it work.

That might be helpful to know. Hopefully it's not Norton. :-)
He could try RevoUninstaller, OR perhaps try reinstalling then uninstalling
it again, assuming it's a problem specific to that software.

Thanks to everyone for your suggestions. In the meantime, I was able to find a way to uninstall it, using a round about way to what
the manufacturer defaulted.
