uninstall publisher

I am trying to uninstall publisher 2002 and I keep
getting the error message 1324 and now I can't reinstall
or repair the software. the uninstall program says that
there was a serious error. please help
 
What can you do at this point? Boot into Safe Mode?
Can you run a System Restore?
