Uninstall ActiveX

Is it possible (if if so, how) to uninstall ActiveX controls? I know
the Tools menu in IE lets you "disable" ActiveX, but "Help" says that
"Add-ons can be disabled but not easily removed." Do you have to do
more than go to the "downloaded program files" folder and delete the
appropriate "class"?

Thanks. It turns out that the display of all ActiveX objects that
appears at that point is in fact the "downloaded program files" folder.
I just wasn't sure if merely REMOVEing an object from that folder
would in fact get rid of all of the effects of installing the object in
the first place. This seems too easy in view of the comment in the Help
system.
